Voordat Joris bij Florent in dienst trad, werkte hij bij Allen & Overy, waar hij ook werkzaam was op het kantoor in New York, en was hij twaalf jaar hoofd van de praktijkgroep Employment & benefits van Simmons & Simmons Amsterdam. Joris is partner in de Employment praktijk en Managing Partner van Florent.

Joris adviseert en procedeert over uiteenlopende arbeidsrechtelijke onderwerpen, waaronder ontslagzaken, collectief ontslag, onderzoeken, beloningsvraagstukken en ondernemingsraadvraagstukken.

Joris spreekt Nederlands en Engels. Hij zit in het bestuur van de Vereniging Arbeidsrecht Advocaten Amsterdam (VAAA) en is lid van de Vereniging Arbeidsrecht Advocaten Nederland (VAAN). Joris heeft een postdoctorale graad (Grotius) in arbeidsrecht (cum laude). Joris wordt erkend als thought leader door Who’s Who Legal en is opgenomen in Chambers en Legal 500.
